Instrument Cluster:
The gauge cluster is one of the most complicated and delicate pieces of electronics in a vehicle having a multitude of gauges, displays and circuits. This combination of moving parts, displays and circuitry makes it a common point of failure in vehicles. It is also susceptible to fire and flood damage and theft.
If you have a faulty or damaged gauge cluster, we always recommend trying to repair the original as a first option. We have repair services available for many types of gauge clusters in our eBay store, but this service is ONLY for programming and NO diagnostics or repair will be done.
Programming:
If the original unit must be replaced, then programming a replacement unit to reflect the true mileage of the vehicle is necessary. However, there a few thing to know before proceeding with programming:
Legal:
Programming the odometer on a part to match the true mileage of the vehicle is legal, as long you are not misrepresenting the true mileage of the vehicle. Here are the U.S. Codes that you should search and read that will help you understand U.S. odometer laws regarding service and sale of vehicles:

4. You part will be shipped back to you in the exact same box and packaging as you sent it with.

. The clock is in the center of the dash and is part of the vent assembly. If you take a drivers license or credit card and slide it in along the bottom edgeall the way to the corner, then you can take a flat object and gently pry theside out. You should be able to grab it with your fingernail andpull it out more. Slide the drivers license across the bottom whilepulling the vent assembly gently up until the whole unit is out. Do nottry this at the top…it does not take much force. Once the whole assembly isout, gently disconnect the 2 connectors, one for the clock and one for the hazard lights. Now turn it over and remove the two screws that hold the clock in. Pop it in a small box and send it to me with payment. Youmay also use paypal.
